How do we work?
The governors meet as a full Governing Body at least once a term. They receive reports from the Headteacher and the committees and discuss a variety of issues concerning the effectiveness of the school.
All governors sit on one of the two main committees:
The Children and Curriculum committee meets at least once a term. The committee looks at pupil related issues and monitors the implementation of the curriculum.
The Resource Committee meets at least once a term to look at finance, personnel and premises issues. They are responsible for agreeing the annual budget and carefully monitor expenditure throughout the year.
Other committees include the Pay Committee which meets once a year to receive a report from the Headteacher on the performance and pay of staff members and to decide the pay for the Headteacher.
The Pupil Disciplinary Committee, the Staff Disciplinary Committee and the Staff Appeals Committee are convened as and when necessary.
All governors make visits to the school to understand how the school works, to monitor progress and to support school activities. Governors also take on individual roles of responsibility.
