year 1
A strong focus in Year 1 learning is the use of speaking and listening. We encourage children to talk through their ideas and new information before writing and using it. This idea comes across in homework tasks as well as classroom activities.
We work as a team in Year 1 with and our teaching assistant this year Mrs Locke (mornings only). Mrs Martin and Mrs Locke cover my planning time on Tuesday afternoons. All staff, together with the childrens' families, are crucial in ensuring that children access all areas of the curriculum to their personal best.
