The year in year 2

In Year 2 we develop our independence in preparation for Key Stage 2.

We study a range of interesting topics and go on visits to support our understanding.

In October we visit Brownsea Island as part of our  topic “An island home.”

In February we go to Portchester castle to experience what would life had been like living in a castle.

In March we compare our school with Norwood Primary School in Eastleigh to look for differences and similarities between the two. We also write to a pen friend at the school before going to meet them.

In the summer term our pen friends make a return visit to Brockenhurst when we go for a walk together in the forest.

In the summer term we visit the Out of Town Centre at Beaulieu for an exciting day searching for minibeasts.

Work is continuously assessed throughout the year but in the summer term we sit our SATs tests.
