Basketball

Last week's tournament was great fun.

In the past, for Brockenhurst's 'A' Team to beat Abbotswood would have been headline news, but in this event just proved ironic in so much as the team that achieved this finished 3rd overall (behind Abbottswood) as they were beaten by Brockenhurst's 'B' Team ! So had we only taken 7 players we would have finished at least second, perhaps even won the tournament.

We were proud, none-the-less, of the 19 children who had fun putting into practice what they had learned over the past term, regularly attending training at 7.30 then running into school, arriving before the majority of their peers for a day at school !

Looking ahead, we have found a coach who is all we could have hoped for. Ryan, from the Brockenhurst College Basketball Academy is giving his time on a regular basis to help train our teams and we are looking to set up a league in the latter part of the year if we can find enough local schools to join us.

Congratulations to all and keep up the good work. New members are always welcome at the club.
